h1. *Polypharmacy and fall in the elderly population*
The current page was made in order to present a small description of this thesis that is being developed currently in association between FEUP and Fraunhofer Portugal. This thesis intends to study and develop an application capable of identifying possible risky medical drugs that can lead elderly people to fall. It intends as well to study the possible effects on the combination of multiple drugs.
Some drugs may present unfortunate side effects which may lead to an increased possibility of falls. This problem is much more severe when we are leading with elder population, since this fiscal state is normally poorer when compared to a healthy young person.
During the development oh this thesis we had to identify the given drugs, classify them in a specific category and access the related risk. To do so we used some medical databases and developed our system based on them.
